Life As We Knew It
Nothing remains the same as before. Especially now when I look around I see the exhaustion leering in the eyes of people around me from over consumption(of everything), from feeling lonely, from all the distress that gets thrown at you the moment you open a social media account, that TV news anchor barking at you stuffing your already brimming pool of thoughts with more random things and speaking nothing of truth or facts.
Fireflies in a Jar
This substack newsletter just came to me in the aftermath of a writing challenge I participated in for a week. Post challenge it dawned on me that my writing is not just a silly hobby or one of those DIY activities you pick up once in a while to entertain yourself and for the novelty of it. My writing is more a gift Alhamdulillah. It’s a beautiful blessing that allows me to dissect my own thoughts and feelings, It allows me to be vulnerable, It allows me to offer solace and empathy through words to all that is hurting and to all those who feel alone in their endeavors in this world.
So if you’re someone like me, who rejoices in the simple pleasures of life say a good cup of tea/coffee, a good book to get lost in an afternoon, slow mornings, a phone call with a friend and a scenic view to rest your eyes on.
Then this space is for you to find comfort and community in.
so every time the world around me feels too much to bear I turn to writing and now will be sharing all that I think and write about, for you to read and ponder over. Just like a Jar of Fireflies I hope to bring light to places and topics that have long suffered oblivion in darkness.
Until Next Time.
Yours truly,
Zahra.G
